For Students
Requirements vary by discipline. Instrumentalists play a chromatic scale and a technical/lyrical excerpt; percussionists perform rudiments and an etude; drum set players and dancers submit a prepared solo or combination not exceeding one minute. Full criteria are listed on the Students page and your instrument page.
All student audition videos must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on November 6, 2026. Registered universities receive the videos for scholarship review prior to Thanksgiving.
Students will receive an additional music packet once their audition has been submitted. All participants attend the ESPN Events Band of the Year Competition after the Scholarship Fair.
For Directors
Complete the Sign Up for Access request on the Band Directors page. Once approved, you’ll receive credentials for managing your program information.
For Universities
Universities must complete registration by October 9, 2026 to participate as a recruiter and receive student audition materials in advance of the event.
Registered universities receive all audition videos prior to Thanksgiving 2026, allowing recruiting representatives to identify prospective scholarship recipients before arriving in Atlanta.
